Matchmaking uses your CSR medal which is fueled by a hidden MMR (at placement). If you are brand new and having a hard time, use the VS AI playlist. Its really just an indicator of how long they have played the game. That would surely help *something.*The numbers 43 and 62 have nothing to do with the skill based matchmaking. On a different note I really wish this game's mp was free to play. Perhaps there's just no data yet with which to matchmake, but given our *levels/ranks* alone, wouldn't this help to somewhat alleviate the barrier of entry? It's one thing to lose in such a way, but what really made it concerning were the ranks of the opposing players (43 and 62 vs our 2 and 6). Both games were 20 minutes, and the second game in particular was brutal. Gonkerz wrote:For a brand-new player to RTS, is this game suitable? A friend and I just had two of the most lopsided games I've ever seen in the history of gaming (we were erased from existence). Of course we want to improve so we're good, but the first impression is quite alarming in the worst ways. I guess ultimately I'm just looking to understand the viability of two brand-new players who'd like to play and better themselves at the game without getting annihilated every match. I mean, does this game have a future for new players? Or, is this game dead? AND: am I better off playing StarCraft 2? This question might exist elsewhere, and if so, please point me to the proper forum.
